Mother's Day Finale Post Feat Sayuri.

Hello everyone..! We finally come to the end of The Mothers Day Special Series.
Just like we started this series with a special person aka Aai..I wanted to end it on a similar note.

And I could not think of anyone better than Sayuri.
If Aai is my Ganesha..Sayuri is My Super Woman.

Sayuri needs no introduction. Her Guest Post on Autism, got So-Saree, record number of hits and may I underline Genuine Comments rather than Follow Me comments.:)

Such was the impact of her post, that I am still flooded with messages, emails and comments telling me how touched they were with her story.

So my pick for the finale post had to be her...
A Rock and Rock Star both at the same time..
I have no words to say how much she inspires me.

Sayuri and her son Vihaan

"I am often asked to describe the experience of raising a child with disability - to try to help people who have not shared that unique experience to understand it, to imagine how it would feel. It's like this -

When you're going to have a baby, it's like planning a fabulous vacation trip - to Italy. You buy a bunch of guide books and make your wonderful plans. The Coliseum. The Michelangelo David. The Gondolas in Venice. You may learn some handy phrases in Italian. It's all very exciting.

After months of eager anticipation, the day finally arrives. You pack your bags and off you go. Several hours later, the plane lands. The stewardess comes in and says, "Welcome to Holland."

"Holland?!?" you say. "What do you mean Holland?? I signed up for Italy! I'm supposed to be in Italy. All my life I've dreamed of going to Italy."

But there's been a change in the flight plan. They've landed in Holland and there you must stay.

The important thing is that they haven't taken you to a horrible, disgusting, filthy place, full of pestilence, famine and disease. It's just a different place.

So you must go out and buy new guide books. And you must learn a whole new language. And you will meet a whole new group of people you would never have met.

It’s just a different place. It's slower-paced than Italy, less flashy than Italy. But after you've been there for a while and you catch your breath, you look around.... and you begin to notice that Holland has windmills....and Holland has tulips. Holland even has Rembrandts.

But everyone you know is busy coming and going from Italy... and they're all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there. And for the rest of your life, you will say "Yes, that's where I was supposed to go. That's what I had planned."

And the pain of that will never, ever, ever, ever go away...because the loss of that dream is a very very significant loss.

But... if you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn't get to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things ... about Holland."

No one could have penned it better.:)

I love this Tattoo..this is exactly how Vihaan looked when he was a little baby. :)

Chubby Cheeks..!

My Mommy Strongest..!

It's the end of the Mommy Series..but definitely not of the Saree features.
And so.. keeping up with the So-Saree Culture, we asked Sayuri to share some of her pics in a Saree.
Am sure..you will like what she sent..take a look and tell me which one you like more?

Princess Diana

Born into an aristocratic English family with royal ancestry she became a public figure with the announcement of her engagement to Prince Charles.
Known more for her highly publicized affairs with Major James Hewitt, Hasnat Khan and Dodi Fayed, she was constantly under glaring media scrutiny for her personal life.
But even her harshest critics wouldn't deny that the Princess was a passionate, brave and devoted mother. Whether it was the Prince himself or the royal family, she was uncompromising when it came to her children.
She chose her children's first names, dismissed a royal family nanny and engaged one of her own choice.
She selected their schools, clothes, planned their outings and took them to school herself as often as her schedule permitted. She also negotiated her public duties around their timetables.
A Princess, a philanthropist, a social worker, a celebrity, a fashionista but most importantly a Mother.
Hats off to the Passionate Lady, Happy Mothers Day, RIP.

How cute is her hairdo..!
Love the matching clothes of the Princes.

The Pants..! :*

Gosh..that Skirt..!

Royal Blue..!

My Top 5 Mommy Bloggers.

Yup..the first post in my Mothers Day Special Series had to be on a community I call my own.

Bloggers Do it Better..!
For sure..!!
But if you are a Mommy Blogger...You have almost attained the Unachievable.
A SALUTE to all the Mommy Bloggers who enrich the blogging world inspite of their crazy crazy schedules.

My Top 5 Fav Mommy Bloggers..
They are not just Awesome...They are the Ultimate Multi Taskers.
(In No Particular Order)

Beautiful..Vivacious and a Yummy Mummy..who blogs with Perfectly Manicured Nails. Do you think that's even possible?? Well check out her Blog, and pinch yourself to check if you are dreaming.
I love her blog mainly for two reasons..her DIY Nail Arts and her Eye Make Up.
She is also my pick for the Most Beautiful Blogger I know.
And she rocks the Saree Look really well.(Extra Points for that...silly grin)

An architect by profession, a working mom to two really cute girls and a stylish blogger.
Well.. if I can do just half of what she does..I will term myself an achiever.
Why I love her blog?? For her style inspirations. The looks that she puts together are so simple and yet so Klassy.

A free spirited blogger, a trendy homemaker and the coolest mom you will ever know. Her wardrobe is every girl's dream. From big brands to street style..she carries each piece with elegance and so much panache. The reason I follow her blog is because she inspires me to challenge myself and try trends that are out of my comfort zone. She leaves the sweetest and most encouraging comments on my blog {well..that was not a qualifying criteria to make on this list..but thought I should mention.;)} and makes my day.

Disclaimer: The above picture is not of a Super Model posing with a kid.
It's Jyoti Of Style Delights with her pretty daughter. I have been such a huge fan of Jyoti and her blog for time eternal, and when she commented on my blog for the first time, I was doing a happy dance for atleast 10 minutes..I swear.
The reason I follow her blog..is because I LOVE HER..and there is no other reason I can think of.

This is one blog I never ever miss checking on. From Food, Travel, amazing DIY, Jesus and everything under the sun..she has it all covered. Her blog posts are so real and thought provoking, that I don't just follow her..but respect her. She is a creative artisan and has her own shop set up at Etsy. So if you want to buy classy, affordable and handmade clutches and jewellery, look here.
Okay now the real reason, why I can't stop checking on  her blog at least thrice a day..is her cute son Liam. Liam is such a bundle of joy and Whitney is sweet enough to share his pictures on her blog. Me and my husband love watching his pictures and videos together.

That's it for today. Hope you enjoyed reading this post, as much as I did compiling it.

Happy Mother's Day!

Life is a celebration ..
And Lord, I'm gonna celebrate ..
Don't you know that life is a celebration..
So come on now and celebrate !

If you have been following So-Saree, there's one thing you would never miss. It's So-Saree's inherent nature of celebrating any and every occasion. I love to celebrate...
Birthday's, Anniversaries, Valentines and what not.
It would be very unlike me if I wouldnt.
So how could I miss the day to celebrate one of the most important person's of my life??  Without whom, I wouldn't be..!
Happy Mothers Day Aai.
Those who are lucky to have one, and to those who themselves are...
Rejoice, celebrate, thank and pray.
For nothing can compare to the joys of  motherhood.
A single post would not do justice, to capture the true spirit of mother hood, and hence in the coming weeks, I will be coming up with a number of posts all dedicated to Moms.
How would I not start with Aai?
For me, she is my Ganesha, as I start everything with her name..
Emotional..? No.. I am not!
Lucky..You bet I am.!
This is My Aai.

P.S. She is not at all a camera person. Had a hard time finding her picture, but am sure its worth the effort.

Sonam Kapoor

Okay..I know I have been away for too long..! And I have to confess what started off as a self imposed hiatus turned into a lazy procastination of sorts. But I am back..and I intend to stay as regular as possible. (You must be already aware that my regular means a post a week..!)

So..Where were we...?

It's not Sonam Kapoor's Birthday today..!

It's just that this post has been due for long, and what better than to do it today..!
Sonam Kapoor.. Bollywood actress, daughter of actor Anil Kapoor, the face of Loreal, but more so a Fashionista.

I admit I haven't seen much of her movies, but I also confess my ardent love for her fashion sense.
If I have to choose my favourite fashionista..She's The Girl..!!!

If you have been following my Facebook page, [Yes, So-Saree does have a presence on FB too, so you better like it..!;)] you wouldn't miss my love and admiration for this Style Diva.

When in So-Saree's very first post, I mentioned that Saree is finally getting it's due thanks to the new crop of designers and their muses..believe me..I was thinking about Sonam Kapoor.

There's something about this girl that you just can't miss. She can carry off any look with equal elegance. And she has never once disappointed me at the Cannes..she is just bang on..all the time.
So, if you are too busy to follow fashion trends and fashion weeks, don't be sad, coz if you follow her style..you have acquainted yourself to the latest trends across the globe, with tips on how to make those looks work, as well.

All this kept aside, the real reason for my soft corner towards this girl is because...(I don't even want to mention it..coz u know it already..!)

Just scroll down and see for yourself.

So..what do you think..???
