Recipe: Mirchi cha Thecha

I wanted to post this recipe on the blog for the longest time, as it is one of my favorite things to eat currently. Though it is consumed in small portions like a chutney or sauce, I tend to over serve myself. I am taking about the classic Maharashtrian dish...Mirchi cha thecha (Literal translation Ground chilies.)
Mirchi cha thecha is a staple food item in a Maharashtrian farmer's meal.
It is low cost, easy to make and has minimum ingredients, which explains it popularity among the poor and hardworking peasants of Maharashtra.
Even though its easy to make and low cost, it is one of the yummiest thing you will taste. So lets move on to the recipe of Mirchi cha thecha.

Ingredients:
Green chilies - 2 cups
Garlic- 3/4 cup
Roasted Peanuts - 1 cup
Cilantro - 1 cup
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt as per taste
(I adjust the quantities of the ingredients as per my taste, if the chilies are hot I increase the quantity of peanuts, garlic and cilantro to make it mild.

Method:
Wash the green chilies and cilantro, and let it air dry.
Now chop the green chilies, garlic and cilantro and set aside.

In a heavy bottom pan, add a tablespoon of oil and once it heats up, add the chopped chilies, garlic and peanuts and keep stirring on medium heat for 5-10 minutes.

Once they are a little cooked, transfer them in a mortar add the chopped cilantro and salt to it and start grinding it using a  pestle.

Alternatively you can use a grinder too, to grind it coarsely, but I believe thecha just tastes better when you do it the traditional way.
Once the mixture has been ground coarsely, transfer it to the pan again and stir it over medium heat for another 2 minutes.

That's it..Mirchi cha Thecha is ready.
Crunchy, garlicky and oh so hot!
You can store it in your refrigerator for a week and enjoy whenever you like.
The ideal way to relish a thecha is with zunka and bhakri, but I eat it with roti, naan and sometimes even bread and rice.

Have you tried mirchi cha thecha before?

Outfit Post: Yellow Yellow Trusted Fellow

Hey Everyone..! Valentine's Day will be here soon. So I am guessing you guys already have big plans under your sleeves.
Well me...I am just chilling and had a pre-Valentines day celebration at home yesterday.
Nah...no cakes or champagne !! I had booked a pampering session with The Home Salon India for MYSELF. Because it's so important to love yourself first. ;)

Today is just another day, when I am sharing some of my old outfit pictures.
This was when I was being all touristy in New York.
My backpack and sneakers are my most trusted aides while traveling. But as far as the color is concerned, I have no idea how yellow made a way in my wardrobe, but now it's like my go to color. Happy and bright!
What's yours?

Richfeel Collaborates with AHI London to Bring Aesthetic Hair Implants Procedures in India

Last week I had the opportunity to attend a bloggers meet hosted by Richfeel, where they had arranged a Q&A session about hair care with Ms. Lorraine Lambert, CEO of Ailesbury Hair Clinic, London.
Ms. Lorraine Lambert with the Founders of Richfeel

The session was very informative and me along with the other bloggers got most of our hair care queries answered from the expert.
But the highlight of the event was definitely Ms. Lambert's presentation of the AHI FUE surgical hair restoration technique, which will revolutionize hair transplant procedures in India thanks to Richfeel.
What you should know about The AHI FUE surgical hair restoration technique:
  • It is the latest and the best in surgical hair restoration.
  • The Extraction method is hugely advanced over other FUE extraction methods. They use a mechanized extractor with a tiny punch of 0.7mm diameter while most FUE clinics use 1mm or 1.2mm punches which create large circular scars in donor site. Healing with a 0.7mm punch is close to invisible. And the best part...A 0.7mm punch often leaves part of the follicle / sebaceous gland in the donor site following extraction which can create growth of 2 hairs
    from the one original follicle.
  • The technique is minimally invasive.
  • Yet it lets you gain maximum results within the shortest recovery time.
  • There is no need for hospitalization and complex aftercare process.
  • The process is executable in just a day.
  • The hair that is planted is not only guaranteed to grow but also stays with you for a long time to come.
  • The new hair that grows can be cut, shaved, colored, blow dried just like your normal hair.
In case of queries and for booking a consultation session, you can also email at customercare@richfeel.com or call at 9004999333.

KANGANA RANAUT – DIVA OR GIRL-NEXT-DOOR?!

Let me be the first to confess; I wasn’t really a big Kangana Ranaut fan. I had always been ignorant of her earlier successful movies like Gangster, Tanu weds Manu, Life in a Metro and Woh Lamhe (apologies for digressing, but in case any of you haven’t watched this, do so immediately!)
I appreciated that a young girl with outstanding looks and to-die for gorgeous curly tresses was making a name for herself in the harsh film world. But then when I happened to watch “Fashion” and I was immediately taken aback by her guileless face but strapping acting prowess. But she was still one of the many. But then came “Queen” and I was a fan for life!
I guess that was also a pivotal point in not only her career but also her personal styling. I would not say that she was badly styled in her early days, but she still had some remnants of her small town upbringing – which in my opinion just added to her charm. But now she has metamorphosed into a total fashion icon.
When I started researching for this saree post, I was not too hopeful. I expected most of her photos online to be more western, but I was in for a huge surprise. She has created quite a wave with her Saree looks and how! And just like her on-screen performances, she has given every look her own personal twist making it unique and memorable – just like Kangana herself!
